OUR HISTORY
A-1 Nursing Care was established in 1987 as a staffing and private pay home health care company. In 1993, A-1 obtained the Medicare and Medicaid Certification.
A-1 Health Care was established in 1993 to serve the private pay market. In 1994, A-1 Health Care became PASSPORT certified. In 2001, we were one of the first agencies to become OPTIONS certified when the program was established.

We specialize in home health care because we believe the warmth and security of one’s home provide the best setting for those requiring professional nursing care.
A-1 is a Medicare/Medicaid certified agency. Our philosophy is to provide the best possible care to all patients and ensure all services are customer-led.
A-1‘s personnel are carefully evaluated, bonded, insured, and committed to strict standards of professional competency.
Our services include everything from personal care and homemaking to nursing and respite care. We serve patients above 12 years old.

HOME CARE
Who is eligible to receive Medicare services?
The patient generally needs to be homebound. This means his/her condition does not permit leaving the home without the assistance of another person or supportive equipment.
The patient’s condition must require a skilled level of care in nursing, physical, occupational, or speech therapy on an intermittent basis.
A physician must authorize the services.
Who pays?
If a patient is homebound and in need of skilled intermittent care, Medicare, Medicaid, or other programs such as PASSPORT, and Medicaid waivers normally cover home care services.
Private insurance frequently covers home care. This can be explored on an individual basis by home care staff.
Homemaking, meal preparation, companion services may be covered under PASSPORT or Waiver programs.
